The Mystical Aura of Egypt — Museum Exhibit Fabrication
The Mystical Aura of Egypt — Museum Exhibit Fabrication
TBKD provided custom exhibit fabrication for The Mystical Aura of Egypt, transforming the museum space into an immersive environment inspired by the architecture, sculpture and visual language of ancient Egypt. The project included a custom golden entrance arch, gold-clad scenic walls and 30 seven-foot Anubis sculptures produced from an original hand-sculpted master.
Our role extended beyond producing individual props or sculptures. As custom exhibit fabricators, we created the large-scale architectural and sculptural elements that worked together to establish the visual environment of the exhibition.

Custom Fabrication for an Egyptian Museum Exhibit
The scale of the exhibition required more than individual decorative elements. The entrance, surrounding walls and repeating sculptures needed to feel like parts of the same environment. TBKD fabricated the major physical components of the exhibit, including:
- Custom golden entrance arch
- Gold-clad scenic walls
- Original seven-foot hand-sculpted Anubis sculpture
- Production mould for sculpture reproduction
- 30 cast Anubis sculptures
- Custom black and metallic gold scenic finishing
We Don’t Just Make Objects — We Make Awe.
Fabricating the Golden Entrance Arch
The entrance was designed to establish the experience before visitors entered the main exhibit. TBKD fabricated a large-scale Egyptian-inspired entrance arch with a dramatic gold finish, creating an architectural threshold between the surrounding museum and the themed environment beyond.
Rather than relying on printed imagery to suggest the architecture, the entrance was constructed as a dimensional scenic element with physical depth, form and surface treatment. Its scale and metallic finish helped establish the visual character of the exhibition while creating a strong focal point at the entrance.

Custom Gold-Clad Scenic Walls
Beyond the entrance, TBKD fabricated the gold-clad walls that formed the architectural backdrop for the exhibition. The wall system helped transform the existing museum space by introducing large areas of dimensional gold surface treatment around the sculptures and other exhibit elements.
By coordinating the walls with the entrance arch and the metallic finishes used throughout the project, the individual fabricated components became part of one cohesive environment rather than separate scenic pieces.
Hand-Sculpting the Seven-Foot Anubis Sculpture
One of the defining elements of the exhibit was a series of monumental Anubis sculptures positioned throughout the environment. The process began with a single seven-foot Anubis figure sculpted by hand at full scale. Sculpting an original master allowed us to develop the form, proportions and sculptural details before moving into repeat production.
This first sculpture then became the master used to create the production mould for the remaining pieces. The result combined traditional sculpture fabrication with a repeatable production process capable of creating a large series of consistent sculptural elements.
TALK IS FLAT - DO IT 3D
From One Original Sculpture to 30 Anubis Statues
Producing one seven-foot sculpture is very different from producing 30. Once the original Anubis sculpture was complete, TBKD created a two-part production mould from the master. The mould allowed the original sculptural form to be reproduced consistently while retaining the character and detail established during hand sculpting.
Using this process, we cast 30 matching Anubis sculptures for the museum exhibit. This combination of original sculpture, mould making and repeat casting is particularly useful for museum exhibits, attractions and themed environments where multiple identical or closely matched sculptural elements are required.
Casting & Production, Black & Metallic Gold Scenic Finishing
Each Anubis figure was cast from the same master mould, allowing the series to maintain consistent proportions and surface details across all 30 sculptures. Producing the figures as a series also allowed the fabrication and finishing process to be organized efficiently while maintaining a consistent visual result throughout the exhibit. The finished sculptures were lightweight enough for practical handling and installation while maintaining the scale and visual presence required for the museum environment.
The figures were finished primarily in deep black with metallic gold detailing, creating the strong contrast that became one of the defining visual characteristics of the exhibition. The gold treatment also connected the sculptures visually with the custom entrance arch and gold-clad scenic walls.
Looking for Custom Exhibit Fabricators?
Whether the project requires one original sculpture, 30 matching cast pieces or a complete fabricated environment, TBKD can help turn the creative concept into a physical exhibit. We work with museums, exhibit designers, creative agencies and experiential teams on custom exhibit fabrication, sculpture fabrication and themed environments built around the requirements of each project. Bring us your concept drawings, renderings, reference imagery or early ideas, and we’ll help determine how to make them physical.
