Custom Built Stage Backdrops
TBKD fabricates stage backdrops to suit the way they need to be installed, transported, and used. Backdrops can be designed as modular systems for efficient assembly and disassembly, built to hang from existing rigging, or fabricated as freestanding scenic structures depending on the venue and event requirements.
We can also incorporate lighting effects, dimensional elements, and integrated graphics to create more visual depth on stage. When appropriate, backdrops can be designed to function as photo opportunities as well.

Can Large Event Letters Stand Outdoors Without Blowing Over?
Large freestanding letters can be designed with incorporated bases, internal structure, ballast or other support solutions appropriate to the installation. Outdoor installations require additional consideration of wind, weather, surface conditions, public interaction and the location itself. These requirements should be established before fabrication so the support system can be integrated into the design.
Can a Stage Element Be Built to Hang From Rigging?
Yes. Scenic elements can be designed around overhead installation when the venue and project requirements allow it. Weight, balance, attachment points, construction and the venue’s rigging requirements all need to be considered during fabrication rather than adding hanging points after the piece has been completed.
Can TBKD Install the Fabrication and Take It Down After the Event?
Yes. Installation and dismantling can be incorporated into the project scope. Planning for installation during fabrication can also make setup considerably more efficient because connections, modular sections, mounting systems and assembly sequences can be developed before the pieces arrive on site.
Can You Make Event Fabrication More Affordable If It Only Needs to Last a Few Hours?
Yes. A one-night event doesn’t necessarily require the same construction as a piece intended to tour for several years. Knowing the intended lifespan allows us to select construction methods and materials appropriate to the actual use, helping balance visual impact, safety, durability and budget.
Can You Turn an Event Theme or Logo Into a Photo Opportunity?
Yes. Logos, campaign graphics, characters and event themes can be translated into dimensional environments and physical photo opportunities. Rather than simply printing a backdrop, we can explore ways to give guests something dimensional to stand beside, sit within or physically interact with.
Can You Produce Custom Award Trophies?
Yes. For larger quantities, we can develop a prototype and determine whether moulding and casting or another repeatable fabrication method is appropriate. This allows a custom design to be reproduced consistently across a larger production run.
