Oversized Marketing Props That Bring Products to Life
TBKD fabricated custom marketing props for Carrera, including two oversized joystick replicas mounted on motorized rotating stands and a large dimensional Carrera sign suspended above a trade show booth.
The giant joystick replicas reproduced the distinctive shape, colours, controls and branded details of the original product at approximately five feet tall. Each was mounted on a rotating display stand, allowing the oversized controller to revolve and be viewed from multiple angles.

Giant Joystick Replicas
Two Carrera joystick replicas recreated the original product’s distinctive shape, controls and branded details, transforming a gaming accessory into oversized advertising props.

A large dimensional Carrera logo was fabricated for suspension above the exhibition booth, providing elevated brand visibility and complementing the oversized product displays.
Giant Product Replicas as Advertising Props
Oversized product replicas turn recognizable consumer products into physical advertising features that communicate brand identity through scale and dimensional detail. For Carrera, TBKD reproduced the original joystick’s distinctive silhouette, curved body, raised controls, recessed grip areas and red branded side panels.
The enlarged proportions made the replicas immediately recognizable, while the detailed sculpting preserved the appearance of the original product. Rather than functioning as conventional retail signage, these custom marketing props represented the product itself, creating a three-dimensional promotional display that could be viewed from all sides.
The Types Display Props We Build
Window Display Props with Motorized Rotation
Retail environments often require promotional displays that attract attention while communicating a product’s identity within a limited space. For Carrera, one of the oversized joystick replicas was used as a window display prop and retail floor feature.
The replica was mounted on a motorized rotating stand that continuously presented different sides of the sculpted controller. This movement added visual interest while allowing customers to see the object’s three-dimensional form without walking around it.
The freestanding configuration also allowed the replica to function as a standalone promotional feature without relying on wall-mounted graphics or conventional printed displays. By combining exaggerated scale with movement, the joystick became a distinctive advertising prop suited to retail promotions and shop window presentations.
Display Props for Trade Shows & Exhibitions
The second giant joystick replica was used at trade shows, where the oversized controller created a physical representation of Carrera’s product within the exhibition environment. Trade show display props must be developed around the practical requirements of the booth, including available floor space, stability, transportation and installation.
For this project, the rotating joystick provided a freestanding dimensional display that complemented Carrera’s exhibition graphics and branded presentation. Its exaggerated size and recognizable form made it a distinctive promotional feature within the booth, extending the brand beyond conventional printed graphics.

Suspended Carrera Trade Show Sign
In addition to the two joystick replicas, TBKD fabricated a large dimensional Carrera logo for suspension above the trade show booth. The oversized red lettering reproduced Carrera’s recognizable script logo in a three-dimensional format.
Positioned above the exhibition floor, the suspended sign provided elevated brand identification and visibility across the surrounding trade show space. While the giant joystick served as a product-focused promotional prop, the overhead sign reinforced Carrera’s brand identity at a larger architectural scale.
Together, the suspended signage and oversized display props created a coordinated exhibition presentation using dimensional fabrication.

Custom Display Props Built Around Their Application
Custom marketing props require different fabrication approaches depending on where and how they will be used. Window display props must consider available space, viewing angles and the relationship between the display and surrounding merchandise.
