Chörlein Museum Showcases — A Tribute to Nürnberg’s Craftsmanship

When TBKD recreated one of Nürnberg’s most iconic architectural features, the Chörlein, we embraced both craft and storytelling. As a result, the project honoured the past while making it accessible for today’s audiences.

Ornate oriel windows that once lined the streets of old Nürnberg were masterpieces of carpentry and civic pride.
Historic Preservation
Reconstruct missing ornaments and details from archival photographs, reinterpreting historic craftsmanship.

Made of plaster we designed the replica to be lightweight and easy transportable for exhibition use.

The curved façade and wave-shaped gable required close attention at every stage. Therefore, our team sculpted and refined each element with care. As the form took shape, it revealed the balance between art and precision. Because of this process, the final piece feels both historic and alive.
In the end, this project became more than a model. Instead, it acts as a bridge between past and present. Through thoughtful design and skilled making, we created a piece that preserves history while inspiring new connections.
