What We Do
Custom Event Photo Booth & Photo Op Fabrication
TBKD designs and fabricates custom event photo booth and dimensional photo opportunities for events, brand activations, product launches, festivals, retail environments and public spaces. Unlike conventional photo booth rentals, our focus is on the physical experience in front of the camera.
We create oversized sculptures, dimensional logos, themed environments, photo op signage, interactive props , event photo booth and custom-built installations that become part of the event itself. Whether the idea starts with a logo, product, event theme, campaign or completely original concept, we turn it into a physical photo experience designed around your brand, your audience and the environment where it will be used.
Types of Event Photo Booths & Photo Ops We Build
Custom Photo Booths
A custom event photo booth allow the physical environment around the photograph to become part of the experience. Rather than starting with a standard booth or printed backdrop, TBKD can develop the structure around the creative concept. This can include dimensional scenery, sculptural elements, oversized props, logos, lettering, integrated seating, branded graphics, lighting and other physical features.
The result are custom photo booths designed specifically for the event or campaign rather than a generic system with different graphics applied to it.
Brand Activation Photo Booths
A brand activation photo booth can turn a photograph into a physical interaction with the brand. TBKD can translate campaign artwork, products, characters, logos and brand concepts into dimensional environments that encourage guests to step into the experience and create their own content.
Depending on the concept, the activation can incorporate oversized products, sculptural props, dimensional branding, interactive components, lighting, screens, moving elements and other features. For brands, the goal is not simply to provide somewhere to take a picture. The photo opportunity becomes part of the activation itself.
Sculptural & Oversized Photo Ops
Some of the strongest event photo ops start with a single oversized object. TBKD can transform products, food items, characters, symbols and other recognizable forms into large-scale sculptural photo opportunities. For the ACE Awards, we fabricated a realistic five-foot-diameter donut as a freestanding photo op for guests.
The oversized scale transformed a familiar object into an unexpected physical feature within the event and created a natural place for attendees to stop and take photographs. Oversized photo props can be developed in custom sizes, shapes and finishes and engineered around how guests will interact with them.
Logo Photo Opportunities
A logo does not have to remain flat. TBKD can transform two-dimensional brand artwork into a three-dimensional photo opportunity that guests can stand beside, sit within, walk through or interact with.
Depending on the artwork, we can develop dimensional lettering, sculpted forms, layered elements, freestanding structures, integrated seating and other physical features while maintaining the recognizable character of the original brand. This approach can turn branding that would normally appear on a printed backdrop into a physical event photo booth enhancing the guest experience.
Photo Op Signage & Dimensional Lettering
Photo op signage can become much more than a printed event hashtag. TBKD fabricates dimensional logos, hashtags, campaign phrases, event names and oversized lettering that can function as both event branding and a physical event photo booth. Lettering can be freestanding, wall-mounted, integrated into scenery or incorporated into a larger installation.
Depending on the project, it can also include custom finishes, dimensional surfaces, lighting and other visual treatments. For the ACE Awards, TBKD fabricated approximately 24 feet of dimensional #aceawards39 lettering along the front of the stage, creating a large-scale branded element visible throughout the venue.
Themed Photo Booth Environments
For concepts that need more than a single prop or sign, TBKD can create complete themed photo environments. Scenic walls, sculptural elements, props, dimensional branding, graphics, lighting and interactive components can be combined to create an environment guests can physically enter.
These installations can be developed around an event theme, campaign, destination, season, fictional environment or brand story and can range from compact photo stations to larger immersive experiences.
Photo Booth Fabrication Built for Real-World Events
A custom photo opportunity needs to work beyond the rendering. People may touch it, lean against it, sit on it or interact with it repeatedly throughout an event. It may need to travel between venues, fit through specific doors, assemble within a limited installation window or be stored and reused for future events. TBKD considers these practical requirements during photo op fabrication.
The materials, internal structure, coatings, bases, connection points and finishes can be selected around the expected level of interaction and intended lifespan of the installation. A photo op built for a few hours at a single event may require a very different fabrication approach from one designed to travel to multiple activations over several years.

The Fabrication Behind a Custom Photo Booth
Custom photo booth fabrication can bring together several different fabrication disciplines within one project. TBKD works with agencies, event producers, designers and brands to translate sketches, renderings, campaign artwork, brand guidelines or early concepts into buildable physical experiences. Depending on the project, our fabrication capabilities can include:
- Design development and fabrication planning
- CAD development and 3D modelling
- CNC routing and sculpting
- Hand sculpting
- Foam fabrication
- Cabinetry and millwork
- Dimensional logos and lettering
- Custom props and scenic elements
- Large-format graphics
- Lighting integration
- Specialty coatings and finishes
- Painting and scenic finishing
- Structural supports and mounting systems
- Custom packaging and crating
- Delivery and installation

A Fabrication Partner for Custom Photo Experiences
A successful event photo booth or photo op should feel like part of the experience rather than an object placed in front of a camera. TBKD combines scenic fabrication, sculpture, dimensional branding, custom props and practical fabrication planning to create physical photo experiences designed around the event, brand and audience.
We work with creative agencies, event producers, brands and designers to turn concepts into finished installations—from a single oversized sculptural prop to a complete themed photo environment.
Whether you have production-ready drawings or an idea that still needs to be figured out, our team can help determine how to make it physical.

Insights / Fabrication Guide: Planning a Custom Photo Op
Can You Turn Our Logo Into a Photo Opportunity?
Yes. A two-dimensional logo can often be translated into a three-dimensional structure that guests can stand beside, sit within or physically interact with. The fabrication approach depends on the shape of the logo, desired scale, location and how people will use it. Dimensional lettering, sculpted forms, layered elements, structural supports and integrated seating can all be considered during development. The goal is to retain the recognizable character of the brand while turning the artwork into something people can physically experience.
Can You Turn Our Product Into an Oversized Photo Op?
Yes. Products and recognizable objects can be recreated at an exaggerated scale to create sculptural event photo ops. Depending on the object, we can reproduce its overall shape, colours, textures, graphics and distinctive details while adapting the internal construction for the scale and intended interaction. The five-foot donut created for the ACE Awards is an example of this approach: a familiar object transformed into an oversized physical photo opportunity.
Can People Sit, Stand or Lean on a Photo Op?
Potentially, yes—but that needs to be established before fabrication. If guests are expected to sit, stand, climb, lean or otherwise place significant loads on part of the installation, the internal structure and materials need to be designed accordingly. We consider the expected interaction during development so structural support can be incorporated rather than treating it as an afterthought.
Can a Photo Op Be Built for Outdoor Events?
Yes. Outdoor photo opportunities require additional consideration for weather, wind, UV exposure, moisture, stability and anchoring. The appropriate materials, coatings, bases and mounting approach depend on the installation environment, duration and expected conditions. Outdoor requirements should therefore be identified early in the design and fabrication process.
Can Lighting Be Incorporated Into a Photo Op?
Yes. Lighting can be incorporated into dimensional lettering, logos, scenic elements and other components where appropriate. Depending on the concept, lighting can highlight specific features, create an illuminated brand element or become part of the interaction itself. Electrical access, cable routing, equipment access and maintenance can be considered during fabrication so the lighting feels integrated into the finished installation.
